The Global Craft Award is a prestigious international accolade dedicated to honoring artisans who have made outstanding contributions to the preservation and development of humanity's traditional craft values. The Global Craft Award affirms the eternal value of craftsmanship—a realm that honors identity and connects the future.
The Global Craft Award is built upon three core values:Preserving and Conserving Heritage (The Global Craft Heritage Award): This award pays the deepest tribute to artisans who have silently dedicated themselves to preserving and conserving traditional values, ensuring that ancestral heritage and the nation's soul remain vibrant across generations.
Talent and Exquisiteness (The Global Master Craftsmanship Award): This award honors artisans with world-class skills—those who have elevated handicraft products into masterpieces. With meticulous attention to detail and strict quality standards, these artisans create products of elite sophistication, capable of impressing and shining in the international market.
Creativity for Contemporary Life (The Global Craft Design Award): This award celebrates innovative thinking and exceptional creativity. It recognizes the ability to breathe new life into traditional materials, transforming craft products into living entities that are useful in daily life and possess the strength to withstand the test of time.
Goal: Preserving Identity & Reviving Heritage
Evaluation Criteria:
Heritage Revival (30%): The work revives an ancient, rare, or endangered technique specific to the artisan's country. The ancient technique/motif must be clearly identified.
Originality (30%): Focuses on fidelity to traditional crafting methods, application of correct ancient processes, and maximum use of natural/local materials.
Cultural Depth (20%): The work accurately reflects symbols, patterns, or narratives associated with the nation's history.
New Vitality (20%): The ability to skillfully breathe contemporary life into ancient motifs, helping heritage integrate with the modern era without fading the original ancestral soul.
Prize Structure:
The Global Craft Heritage Master: Total Equivalent Value of $6,000 USD; including a Cash Honorarium of $1,000 USD alongside the Golden Trophy and Certificate; full access to the Premium Digital Heritage Program (world-class website, 3D AR showroom, and a specialized "Craft Preservation Documentary"); an elite Global Marketing Sponsorship (strategic campaigns and priority VIP placement at international trade fairs); and an invitation to serve as an Honorary Juror, Keynote Speaker, or Lead Trainer at premier international forums.

Required Submission Dossier:
Heritage Photo Set: 5 white-background photos at different angles, close-ups of ancient details, and 5 photos of the artisan engaging in the restoration/crafting process.
Documentary Video (3-5 minutes): Recording the artisan performing ancient techniques and a short interview about the preservation journey.
Heritage Narrative (500 words): Specifying historical value, identity, urgency of preservation, risk of loss, and the artisan's preservation journey.
Artisan Portfolio: Portrait, biography (training, years of experience, awards/exhibitions, press articles), and personal sharing on patience and dedication to the craft.
Confirmation: A commitment that the work is original and preserved/executed by the artisan themselves.
Goal: Honoring "Talented Hands & Superior Technique"
Evaluation Criteria:
Material Mastery (30%): Assesses deep understanding and ability to master material properties (clay, fiber, wood, metal, etc.) to achieve the highest artistic effect.
Precision and Exquisiteness (40%): Focuses on technical indicators such as the tightness of joinery, the rhythmic regularity of weaving lines, or the sharpness and complexity of carving details.
Structural Integrity (20%): Examines sustainability, balance, and overall finish, ensuring harmony between form and function.
Process Perfection (10%): Values works where every minute detail evidences patience and meticulousness, even in hidden corners, the back, or the interior of the work.

Confirmation: A commitment that the work is original, crafted by the artisan, with no industrial machinery intervention in core details.
Goal: Honoring "Creative Thinking & Applicability"
Evaluation Criteria:
Creativity and Breakthrough (30%): Highlights innovation (new approaches to material use, material combinations, or improving old techniques to create modern structures) and design uniqueness (avoiding clichés while retaining the "DNA" of the original craft).
Contemporary Aesthetic (30%): The work possesses colors, shapes, and styles that align with global trends and fit into modern spaces without feeling out of place. A blend of raw craft beauty and modern design sophistication.
Applicability and Usability (20%): Honors designs with clear functionality that bring convenience or interesting experiences to the user. Human-centric designs providing comfort, ergonomics, and sustainable production capabilities.
Timelessness (20%): Includes sustainability (eco-friendly materials/processes) and longevity (design depth that does not become obsolete over time).

Documentary Video (3-5 minutes):Recording the design and crafting process, close-ups of technical operations, and a short interview.
Technical Narrative (500 words): Explaining inspiration, reasons for material choice, techniques, breakthrough aspects, sustainability of materials/processes, and product usability/function.
Artisan Portfolio: Portrait, biography, and personal sharing on patience and dedication.
Confirmation: A commitment that the work is original and executed by the artisan.
Participants: The competition is open to craftspeople, artisans, and designers of all nationalities who are 18 years of age or older at the time of submission. Entries may be registered as individuals or collectives. To ensure the honoring of individual craftsmanship, we do not accept applications from commercial entities, manufacturing corporations, or companies of any legal form.
Each entrant (individual or group) is allowed to submit no more than 03 single products or 03 unified sets. A "Set of Works" is defined as a collection of multiple items conceptualized and executed as a single artistic creation with strong cohesion. All entries must fall within the scope of the 6 specified product groups. The use of hazardous materials, banned materials, or living biological materials is strictly prohibited.
Entries must strictly adhere to the following mandatory criteria: Authenticity: The work must be owned by the entrant(s), crafted entirely or mostly by hand, and must not be an industrially processed product or imported from a third party.Timing:The product must have been completed within the last 05 years from the application date.Uniqueness: The product must be a work that has never received any national or international awards previously.Logistics: The product must have physical characteristics suitable for international transport, display in exhibition spaces, and professional installation by the Festival Organizing Committee. Once the dossier is submitted, all information regarding the shape, material, and presentation of the product is considered final; entrants are not allowed to make any further edits. Any misconduct, provision of false information, or violation of these requirements will result in immediate disqualification.
Sending Entries:
Notification: After the preliminary round results (June 30, 2026), Shortlisted candidates will receive a notification requesting them to send their works to Hanoi Shipping Deadline: Works must arrive at the Organizing Committee's warehouse at least 30 days before the Festival Opening Ceremony.Shipping and Packaging: Entrants are responsible for packaging according to international shipping standards to avoid damage. Shipping costs are paid by the entrant. Customs Procedures: The Organizing Committee will support necessary documents (Exhibition Invitation, Heritage Confirmation) for artisans to perform temporary import - re-export procedures. Condition Check: Upon receipt, the Organizing Committee will create a product condition report. Any product with major discrepancies compared to the images submitted in Phase 1 will be immediately disqualified. Product Return: The Organizing Committee will return the products to the artisan after the competition or assist the entrant in selling the products. Return shipping costs are to be paid by the entrant.Ownership by the Entrant The entrant retains full intellectual property rights to the submitted work. The entrant guarantees that the work is an original design, executed by themselves, does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party, and bears full legal responsibility for any claims or disputes related to the work's copyright.
Usage Rights of the Organizing Committee By participating in the competition, the entrant agrees to grant the Organizing Committee the right to use images, videos, and narrative content related to the work for the following non-commercial purposes: (1) Promotion and Media: Posting on websites, social networks, press releases, and media outlets to promote the Award and the Festival. (2) Exhibition: Displaying the work at the physical exhibition and archiving it in program publications (books, catalogues, etc.). The Organizing Committee commits to fully citing the artisan's name and country in all image usage activities. If any fraud, plagiarism, or copyright infringement is discovered, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to cancel eligibility or revoke awards (including prize money and titles) at any stage of the competition.
Production and Commercia Regulations The Organizing Committee commits not to copy, mass-produce, or commercialize the submitted designs without written consent and a separate copyright contract with the artisan. If a third party (investor, customer) expresses a desire to purchase or cooperate in production, the Organizing Committee will act as a bridge for the two parties to negotiate benefits directly.
